“Open Woods” Day

Wisconsin Woodlands

Did you know that nearly 60% of the forests in Wisconsin are owned by private individuals and families? You’re invited to meet some of these 260,000+ landowners on May 15 as you recreate on their property and learn about their efforts to be good stewards of the forest.

As part of their 25th anniversary celebration, the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association (WWOA) will be sponsoring a statewide WWOA Open Woods day for the public hosted by a WWOA members around the state. These “open woods” events will be on Saturday, May 15, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at various locations.

Enjoy a hike in the woods, learn from the landowner host, visit with a natural resources professional, bring a picnic lunch, or try a hands-on activity. This will be a fun day in the great outdoors for you and your family. Mark May 15 on your calendar and make plans to attend the WWOA Open Woods at a location near you.
